I unpacked my fan and radiator last night. The fan is slightly smaller in diameter than the height of the radiator.
The radiator will have to be monted so that the front top tube of the chassis is about 1/2 way up the radiator.
Given this, how can I moint my fan (without driving the mounting screws through the fan an into the radiator!)

You can get a fan mounting kit that uses plastic rod and retaining clip through the vanes in the rad. no need for screws or bolts.

...or you can make your own, make washers from PP or Nylon sheet, circa 25mm diameter, with either M5 or M6 studding and nyloc nuts, and plastic tube for spacing. I suggest you use ty-raps for a trial fit to make sure the fan is best positioned before removing fins.
You can actually use tie wraps to hold it on permanently. Make up some 25mm plastic washers as described (the inner bit left over from using a holesaw
is ideal), put a large tie wrap through the hole so the end of it pulls up against the washer, then thread it through the radiator fins and then
through the radiator mounting hole. Now get another tie wrap and cut the locking bit off the end, and using another small washer if necessary, slide
the second tie wrap locking bit onto the one coming through the rad, and pull tight, so pinning the fan in place. Ive not explained it very well but
as long as you use enough to support the weight of the fan, it works fine using the same principal as the plastic pegs.
