core plugs
Lotusmark2 - 7/8/05 at 07:56 AM

Hi all, I am modding a diff for chain drive and am plugging some 1.41cm holes with 14mm core plugs, what do you guys use to seal you core plugs in?

Red Foliac pipe jointing compound or red hermetite type sealers which set solid and fill any voids. They are not designed to come back out so any permanent joint seal should do it.

Cheers Peteff,
do you know of a good source for 14mm core plugs (dont fancy paying 2.40 each which is what the Ferrari ones I found are!!)

Try your local engine reconditioning company , they may well have a listing for core plugs .

Wouldn't it be worth it to be able to say that you have Ferrari parts in your transmission?

Cheers

Engine rebuilders/engineering places are your best choice. Some motor factors sell a sheet with various sizes on for not alot of money.
