I'm trying to find a Mk2 golf GTI fuel pump for my TB/megasquirt conversion. I'm told these are ideal as the have a built in swirl pot. I
thought I would try my local Motor factors to see if a new one was reasonably priced(too cold for scrappies) , but there were loads of different
ones to choose from.
Does anyone know what the part number is, I been searching loads with no joy
Many thanks
Steve
I don't think you'll find what you're looking for as an assembled unit. You'll need the various components, I can start the list
with the following but it's not complete...
Accumulator - this is the plastic tank (swirl pot) the pump sits in
The 'in tank' immersed pump
Rubber Bobbins - 4 to mount it to the frame
Mounting frame - Which the accumulator bolts to.
TBH I think it will be prohibitively expensive to buy all the bits separately (not trying to p#ss on your chips) and you'll be better off
wallowing in the mud/making a few phone calls and finding a secondhand one.
There are so many at the factors because through it's life the Mk2 GTi had at least 3 different injection systems fitted! K-jet and Digifant, to
name 2, which run at different fuel pressures.
Thanks for the reply,
I will check out the scrappies.
My usual scrappy has no mk2 golfs, but i shall phone around tomorrow
Cheers

Hi
I think you will find that the accumulator costs about £30 from a VW dealer and I think there is a spare pump in my garage. Failing that there is a VW
breakers not far from me in Suffolk that sells the lot for about £30.

Got the golf GTi fuel pump. I was lazy and paid an extra 5 quid for them to take it off.
Can anyone tell me what the connections are and what angle i have to mount it at.
Cheers

If you clean it ;-}
You will find that there are arrows that indicate into or out of the accumulator.
I have mounted mine on the back of the bulkhead behind the passenger seat with the pump at the top, it needs to be that way in order to allow the
return to the tank to take any vapour/air back out of the system.

Hi there
Does anybody now the pressure/flow rate specs for these pumps? Will they be able to deliver fuel for a much higher power application?
Cheers,
