Quick yes/no question!
Anyone know if a 1600 CVH manifold (inlet) will fit any of the Zetecs? Don't want to run injection and I've got a nice twin choke Weber with uprated
jets and induction kit in the garage courtesy of my XR2.0 (before it had the .0 bit!)
Chris
If you cant get an answer here chris.
Vulcan Engineering will know.
Cheers Bob - I'm going to get a Zetec anyway (I think) so I guess I will find out then. Just wanted a bit more persuasion that I should go Zetec!
Anyone know?
Chris
Go for a Zetec Chris.
Cheers Hippy! You know of a pre-92 one going cheap?
Chris
If it's going cheep, then I reckon you ought to have it checked over.
I'm sure even a Zetec shoom go vroom.

Chris
Don't mean to but in, but have a look at:
http://www.racecar.co.uk/partsboardmain.htm
In the parts for sale section there's an 1800 zetec for £150.
Just thought you might fancy it.

Remember, the 1800 zetec was an economy thing.
I heard the 1600 was the more powerfull, but dont quote me on that lets see if anyone in the know knows eh!.
I know that was true of the CVH. Didn't know it was the same for the Zetec?
Chris
i believe the 1800 zetec cmes in 105 , 115 , 130 ps modes .

Do not even be tempted by the 1.6 Zetec as it only has 90 bhp and is vary rough due to squeezing the valves into such a small area, the 1.6 cvh from an xr3 has more power. The 1.8 is the best as it was the unit ford designed the whole zetec range around and so it happens to be the smoothest. It has 115bhp standard but if you got the throttle body and ECU from a Mk5 Escort XR3i then the power can be boosted to 130bhp. Alternatively try a 1.7 Zetec SE which is know relation to the Zetec as it is built by yamaha, is all alloy and has variable valve timing. Also revs to 8000rpm from standard, yum, yum!!!!!!
