Hi All,

Looking for a source of breakpipe clips, not P clips, but the ones were you can push the pipe on and off after fixing the clip to the chassis, i.e a Y clip?

i couldnt get away with them. If the pipe wasnt nice and straight they tended to pop out. I used the cable ties that have the xmas tree style fitment - ie drill hole, push the fastener into the hole and secure pipe with the integral cable tie. These also space the pipework away from the chassis as well. Passed SVA with no comments.

I tried to use the cable ties bases that you can secure with rivet / screw onto the chassis as well but found they snapped frequently (heavy handed!!!) before i was happy with the security.

I sourced my brake pipe clips from Europa. Really awful to work with though as DarrenW said :-(
Ended up using stainless P clips which ISTR were cheapest from RS components.

Any more ideas..... It would be nice to be able to remove the pipes without having to drill the rivets from P clips etc.

Difficult to describe in writing, but basically the cable tie has an integral barbed fastening that locks into a pre-drilled hole. They can be removed fairly easily by cutting them with stanley knife and replacing with new tie. If you want me to send you some samples iam happy to do that - just U2U me your address. Failing that i could try and take a pic. Im sure they will be available from most places that stock cable ties.

Ive just been home to get some more info for you. The parts i used are made by hellermannTyton, part number T505D6.HB6.
Similar to those in the link but the cable tie head is just above the button headed bit. i used them for brakes, fuel lines and cables.

I've used the single double and treble clips from Automec - link below if it works! I agree, not great to use, but if you drill a hole 1/2mm too small and then push them home with a small persuader (hammer) then they don't come out. I especially like the treble clips to hold 3 pipes side by side where they will be visible...

Hi Mark,

How many did you use? Had paying 20p each, seems a lot for a peice of plastic, I have got some plastic P clips but were 1p each!
