Just got a set of zzr1200 carbs with manifold for my pinto, bit of a squeeze in the engine bay but they now fit and I just need an airfilter/airbox.

Question is do I need to use the original trumpets that come on the carbs within the airbox, as it looks like they seperate a jet
from the choke (although there is a bleed hole built in to the trumpet)? If I do I need
to rotate them 180 degrees due to the bonnet... see pics below...

I'm also told that these carbs are designed to work with ram air, are they going to cause a problem if I dont get sufficient
positive pressure within the airbox?

There is no ram-air effect at road-legal speeds and little until well over 100mph -
the ZZR is 170MPH bike.

Carbs (and T-Bs) work best with trumpets.

By increasing the size of the air intake you would also increase the air pressure,
would this not lower the speed at which ramair becomes effective?

Or would the size of the opening and increased drag have a negative effect on performance?
