what 0-60 time should i expect from a 2.0 pinto injection powered Locost?
any idea on top speed?
cheers
Matt
Mine is about 6 seconds and 18 seconds to 100.
My carbed Indy was 6 seconds.
Yep, I reckon my carbed one was about 6 as well.
Oh, seen as Chris is posting on here - it was 4.5 really

(just like the magic weight figures).
Pat...
Mine used to take from Nott'm to Worksop, but that was just the way I drove it
Then I discovered Bike Power

Been 105 mph in mine. Bike Carbs 2.0 ltr pinto.
Was only wearing Protective goggles and my eyes wear being forced shut by the wind , so on the side of caution (couldn,t see)

i slowed down.
0-60 not tested.
Just ordered a wind deflector from Mac#1, so hopefully things will get better.
Cheers

Around 6-ish to 60 for a standard pinto sounds about right. Will depend on a lot of factors though - weight, traction, gearing, practice, and how
mechanically unsympathetic you are prepared to be ...
Top speed depends on wind resistance, which pretty much comes down to windscreen or aero-screen. I saw the wrong side of 100mph in mine with a
windscreen, but the buffeting was horrible - much above 80ish wasn't fun for any length of time.
Cheers
Richard
I think I hit about 110mph on the way back from Donny once on the M1, then noticed Jon Ison's GT1 up my bottom so had to move over quickly and
then watch him disapear.
Pat...
sorry to hijack, Chris have you started the single seater yet?? any pics?
Andrew.

ive been in a westy with a 2.1 pinto on twin 45's,tuned and balanced and it got to 145mph before the road started to run out,had a quaife box in it as well, all i had on was sunglasses and i had to hold them on my face past 100mph. god it was scary!

i took a guess (friend counted with phone stopwatch so 2 up) at mine doing 60 in around 5-6 seconds, and i got it to 110 before i thought ill slow down now!
I'll let you know in May

(hopefully

6secs is achievable with std Pinto injection, std diff and gearbox.
Ive recorded 6secs in mine using DD2 but very difficult to repeat (launch control etc).
2.1 with 3.62 diff etc and some practice should be sub 5.5. As said for an old heavy engine in a car built to a budget its good value, however there
is no getting away from it that its no match for the more expensive modern engines and becs etc. Still good fun.
Ref top end, cant comment. Each time ive seen the 100 show up on the screen (track use) ive had a magnet detach itself!!! I would have thought 110 is
achievable quite easily but its all down to drivetrain choices.
My Tiger Cat E1 2.0L Pinto with 45's was topping out around 120mph, my brother overtook me in his BMW, then came up to a roundabout and i pissed
all over hime round it and then away
D
i have clocked 130 on a race track with a bog standard pinto engine
I managed 120 with a Pinto the other day
(Of course it was in the boot of my Tin top at the time - does that count ?)

forgotten what I was going to say after seeing that little movie above...that's so great

Not as good as his last avatar though! IMHO of course!
