where to buy s/steel bent tube?
Moorron - 4/1/07 at 10:38 PM

wow ive added some posts on here lately.

I need to buy some round s/steel tube and also some 45/90 degree bends so i can make my turbo manifold up. Anyone know where i can get some from?

i need 38 mm o/d (1 1/2".

im also looking for a spare HONDA CBR1000F metal water pipe, the one that site under the exhaust manifold and attached to the head in 2 places. Even a bost one will do so i can make sure i miss it when making my manifold up on my spare engine. ??

found this pic, THIS is NOT the one i need, but fits in the same place, mine is horizontal and not 'Y' shaped as per the pic.

BSS - use some welded fittings and connectors - using thin tube will make it crack and likely to fall off - unless you use expensive stuff .

Not sure where in the midlands you are but I use this place in Leicester. They have all sorts of sheets, pipe lengths, box section etc. Well worth a visit. I was only there today!
Aluminium Leicester, Unit 11 Beaver Centre, Putney Road West, Freemans Common, Leicester. Tel: 0116 2553530.

I also have lots of CBR1000F spares from my biking days. One complete engine and another in bits. I`ll have a look for that water pipe tomorrow for you.

thanks. that would b grand.

i could use mild steel for the manifold but i do like stainless as i can get the pros at work to weld it all up and still look good.

im in telford so miles from them, have they a website? do they do bents on the shelf?

not sure if they do ready bent tubes or even bend it on site. Best give them a call to see. They do stock stainless though. I saw some flooring off another 7 in there they were preparing for a customers race car.

posted it a LOT of times, but the best place I have found, and indeed the place that I think supply Milner, is SDW Light Fabrication Ltd in Banbury.

I bought all my stainless tube from there to do this manifold:

exhaust 2
exhaust 2

as they were the only place I could find that can supply the diameters I needed, and in the end they turned out to be MILES cheaper than anywhere else!

The tube to do the whole manifold, in 316 stainless, came to around £100 (I actually got enough to do two, for £200)

I've been buying my stuff from www.hpe.co.uk

dead cheap at around 3 quid per bend for the 38mm bends I have been buying - try to buy all you need in one go tho as their standard postage charge is 15 quid.

I found milner later and used them for some of the pipe i needed - pipe prices were fairly reasonable.

Never ordered from them, they were at one of last years shows (Harrogate?) where I got their url.

They also do collectors, reducers, header flanges etc.

Moorron,
I think I have the water pipe for your CBR1000 engine. Is it a `L` shape pipe that has 2 water inlets going into the middle of the front of the block and then a 3rd outlet that your rubber hose attaches to? If so, it`s well and truly stuck in the block at the moment, I`m soaking it to try and free it. Any good to you?

Update!

ordered from dynaflow today, very nice guy on the phone, even rounder the total cost DOWN!

Found them to be the cheapest as i bought the cheaper packs of 8 bends.

just need to pull my finger out now and draw up the s/steel turbo flanges to weld to it all. nice friendly laser cutters
