I know a few on here have them just wondering if any changes had to be made to the sump at all? or if any mods had to be done to fit one?
Think i asked before but cant find the post.
go on the search link and search for your username - should be there....
i have the older nissan s12 lump in mine and it fits in with gear box no mods at all
Jasper has one in a stylus and there is one in an mk indy. As mentioned above a search will bring up the relevant details.
Ned.
This MK is fitted with the 2.0 Litre 200sx engine, with around 300bhp,its a very well built car,I don't think Paul who owns the car comes on this
forum, but he went up to the MK York drag day with us last year and was the second fastest, only being beat by "carnut" and his nos powered
blackbird, bec power still won the day ,I am sure it has no sump mods, although its a tight fit in the MK chassis.

I think a few guys here in Oz are either doing it or have one on the road. IIRC some of the kit mfr's offer this engine as an option.
You might find it useful to post your question on http://www.oz-clubbies.com/
here is link to a dax with one fitted.

im fitting one under std locost GRP
see my pics... no mods to the sump but it is bloody tall and sticks a few inches out the bottom. On mine and the MK the gearbox tunnel had to be
widened quite a bit. The hard bit is running it!!
Yup - I've got on in a Stylus. I don't think you can cut the sumps on these because of the pick-ups etc.
The biggest hassle by far is the electrics, it look me a week using Paul and Marks (who own the Mk) notes to do all the r-rewiring necessary on the
engine loom.
And if you use the engine our of the S14a you MUST yet the key/antenna/immobiliser unit for the ecu will not run. and they are programmes as a unit so
you cannot swpa them from other cars.
Feel free to U2U me, I got mine fired up last week
BTW - the gearbox is large, so you'll have to do come chassis changes too.

Yes, bloody huge loom - so many sensors it's not true - and unless it sees every one it will not fire.
Heres a link to the first fire up (well nearly the first )

Cool.. Do you need the power fc to run it or could you just run it on the std ecu if you wanted.
Maybe you should have 'squirted it.... would have been waaay simpler!*
But atleast you'd have had a smaller loom, and no immbilisers etc. to worry about!
Jasper, did you find the location for the mystery connector in the end?
Cheers,
James

I used the Apexi Power FC instead of the standard ECU - but they don't make them any more....
You could run it on the standard ECU with all the right bits, but I'm tuning it to 300bhp, so I would have needed to have it 'chipped'
anyway, and this way it is fully mappable.
Megasquirt on this engine - rather you than me
And yes, I did find the mystery connector - it was for the bloody lamda that I have taken out and replaced with a wideband one wired directly into the
ecu - what an idiot .....
good stuff...
don't think the megasquirt will run the VVT also there is no cps only a can pos sensor...
Fun...
