Will fit anything with a type 9 box. Should move the stick back about 3 or 4" IIRC.

Where is that one from? They all the look the same, but Ive heard the westfield one is better quality than the tiger one.

I've just had one delivered from Rally Design. Looks like a great piece of kit but I'm a little bit worried its going to be a pain in the
A*** to fit.
There is a cross member on the top of the transmission tunnel that looks like its going to get in the way.
I either need to try to drop the back end of the gearbox own by just over an inch or move the offending bit of box section....
Anyone know how structural said bit of box section is?
The choice is either cut it out and weld it back in a few inches further back...or (seen as the car is completed) cut it out and forget about
replacing it a bit further back.
Whats the general concensus of opinion on this one ?

You say you have one on yours, how did you manage to fit it ?
Should say.......Pinto engine bolted to the front of the gearbox.

The tiger thing is a peice of crap!! It is a rose joint with a bar through it and a spring (to press down for reverse stop) and a thead on top (for gear knob). This is then attached to the original gearsitck (top hacked off) with two metal straps and bolted together. Heath Robinson would have thought it crude!!!
Sorry forgot to mention, i bought one of the extensions above ^ (darrenga) from ebay around £60 with postage. Great unit. Works really well!!!!

I made one not dissimilar to David Jenkin's item, after looking at the westfield et al ones and deciding that they were far from great!
Having two "selector forks" in the mechanism effectively doubles the play in the system.
Mine uses the original bellcrank and the original fork from the original gearlever, so no play at all.
Combined with a raised shifter bearing turret and a large spherical bearing (from the end of an old hydraulic cylinder) the gearshift is super precise
and incredibly positive. With a 10" long gearlever it gives about 1.5" of crossgate movement at the knob and about 2" fore and aft at
the knob.
Only problem now is the synchro is not as fast as I am!
Does anyone ever made an extension for the 4 speed gear box?
