I have silcon on mine. Theyv discoloured but they are doing the job.
No i have had it on for 8 months now the only thing i had trouble with was it coming of the carbs [zx9r ] so i glued them on with supper glue and

I have zx9r carbs on my 2l pinto.
I bought the propper rubbers from a bike breakers for not a lot of £$, they clip perfectly on the carbs and bolt onto my home made manifold. No
worries of it ever coming off or coroding, just sit back and forget about them.

Plain silicone hose will break down over time with exposure to petrol. Not sure of the time scale, but it will happen.
You can use silicone hose if it has been flourolined however, its then petrol resistant indefinately.
