Ford XFlow - What's the cheapest quick fix for air filter poking out of bonnet?

Foam? I'll sort something 'pretty' out after SVA!

Foam ones sticking out of the bonnet will pass sva.

this is my Pinto's K&N filter sticking out. The bonnet and filter plate edges are trimmed with rubber U trim and the nut on the top are domed. Off to SVA tomorrow, so I'll soon know if it's OK

Are you using a single or twin carb setup? i.e sticking out the top as above or the side. May make a difference, but couldn't tell you what. Sorry.
