I have been reading through old posts and as far as my limited reading skills take me it appears that you should:

1. Have an expansion tank
2. Have the bottom outlet from the tank going to the bottom of your radiator or radiator hose
3. Have the top outlet from the tank go to the highest point of your system.

I have a Rover V8 block and radiator so there are no points on the radiator itself to connect to and the radiator has an overflow point just below the cap.

I am therefore assuming that I need to

a. seal the overflow on the radiator and use a non-valved cap.
b. somehow splice into the top hose (as it is the highest point in my system)
c. splice into the bottom hose in pretty much the same way as the top hose

I noticed Geoff (wilkingj) has a 45degree elbow that he has used in the top hose to connect to [see http://g0ddx.ath.cx/viento/luigi_viento_build8.htm] - any idea where to get one from?

If someone could confirm that or offer any further advice I would appreciate it!

Visit a plumbers merchants for large diameter fittings, then solder up what you need. A touch of black paint and job done ! HTH

On the V8 inlet manifold there is a triangular plate with a blanking cover or a temp sender for the choke wrning light. You could use this as your top connection to the water system. Plumbers merchants have 38mm copper fittings not cheap compared to15 and 22 but just the right size for clmping hose on to. i just used a T to make a fan switch boss, £4 instaed of £37.50!
