As title i have 38 DGAS carb on my Pinto. These have 2 seperate barrels. At the base of each there is a screw that i asume adjusts the mixture. Am i right in thinking the screw governs the amount of fuel rather than the air? Does this mean screwing in will weaken the mixture and screwing out will richen it? and that the basic aim is to get both screws at the same postion?

Any other adjustments i need to be aware of? (my carbs have the choke mechanism removed if it makes a difference).


Im asking as ive fitted a narrowband lambda probe and gauge to help me set up the mixture.

At the risk of answering my own question - i have just found this

Can anyone confirm this from their own experience. Looks like turning the mixture srews right in will shut off the fuel supply (hence weaken the mixture) as i first posted.

The two screws on the base of the DGAS are the idle mixture adjustment screws.

The main circuit adjustment comes from fitting different sized jets, which are readily available from ebay or weber people.
