hi all,
i know this has been covered, but its now doing my head in !
got a 2003 1800black top ( focus)
if I'm using the original flywheel what clutch do i need?
the standard clutch wont fit as the centre is too small !
or do i need a mondeo /escort flywheel?
tried 2 different FRICTION plates and still cannot get any gears !
also got a 2litre blacktop for later,
tried the flywheel from that, but the crankshaft bolt pattern is different !
and the 1.8 flywheel has a different bolt pattern for the pressure plate to the 2litre
cheers paul

clutch plate has to be the one for the gearbox to slide over the sticking out bit with the splines; the clutch housing that came with the clutch then
is attached to flywheel. If you are lucky, the same holes are used or find a clutch housing that matches the flywheel bolts but also works with your
plate .... if you follow my drift.
I'm sure someone wil come along as sya you need xxxx model/yyy year etc.

I had Scholar in Mendlesham, not that far from you, lighten and modify my flywheel to take a standard 2.0l Pinto clutch, it worked a treat.
yes just sent mine off to be done.
cheers paul
Sent my flywheel to Dunnell to be lightened and modified to take Pinto Clutch.
Are you *sure* the 2.0 engine has a different bolt pattern? I've a 1.8 flywheel on mine. The flywheel can only be mounted in 1 position so you
have to rotate it until all the bolt holes line up. This is to ensure the markings for the CPS are always at the right offset.
