
The old K Series tin top has started losing a bit of coolant. Not a lot yet, cup full a week. No
visible signs so assuming it's the start of the K Series favorite.
Wondering if it's worth chucking K Seal in. Nevr used it hoping someone here will slate it or great it.
try a new expansion cap first......
cured both of ours, and neither showed signs of leaking
INLET MANIFOLD GASKET --- very easy job change it NOW
When replacing it make sure all the washers are correctly fitted and tightened in the correct order -- Rover introduced a revised gaskets and revised
studs, nuts and washer with a revised tightening procedure.
Thats how mine started before the head buckled 


check the rear metal water pipe,
they rot from behind drip onto the block and you dont see it !
I tried it in my rover 600 diesel and it didnt work. It has been using water for a couple of years but never overheats and still runs
perfectly.Previously i had used a unipart rad sealer that I bought cheap at an autojumble, that worked well for about 18months until I put fresh
antifreeze in last autumn when it started using water again , the Kseal did absolutely nothing to improve it. I have been topping up with antifreeze
all winter and now am adding plain water to dilute it and it is not using so much, I am going to try and find the unipart sealer again that did
work.
I suspect the problem with my car is a cracked cylinder head rather than a leaky gasket.

Conventional glyco or methanol based antifreezes tend to make water leaks much worse because they reduce the waters surface tension.
Modern OAT based antifreeze (usually orange or pink) isn't nearly so prone to the problem BUT if you change over the system must flushed propely
and flushing agent MUST be used.
