Bike Throttle Bodies for Pinto and Zetec
flying_coffin - 24/3/07 at 11:50 AM

Can anyone suggest a set of bike throttle bodies that will work with a 2.0L pinto but also work with a 2.0L Zetec at a later date if the engine were upgraded. OR are the requirements just too different ?

Pinto is pretty standard 2.0L with .5mm over bore and Piper 285 cam.

I've tried searching for Pinto TB suggestions but not getting any results back at the mo

You can use throttle bodies on any engine. U just need a different manifold and a different map.

Gixxer 600s will probably be OK so long as you're not planning on tuning the zetec...

I've 750s on my zetec but would probably be overkill for the pinto.

In that vein, TBs from most 600s would probably satisfy.

Just as stevebubs said really.

The only bit I can add is that you should try to get some that are re-spacable as this will make fitting easier. GSXR600 fit the bill nicely. I have GSXR750 TB's on my Zetec and I feel they are perhaps too big even for a standard Zetec.
Never mind, I will just have to make sure it doesn't stay standard for long

Thanks Guys,

I'll look out for some GSXR600 TBs or similar then.

Are any 600 TB easier to re-space than others ?

keep your eyes on ebay there will be a set of gsxr600 throttle bodies along with a choice of pinto or zetec inlet manifold conversion next week,
and as for respacing them the gsxr600 throttle bodies are only a couple of mm different from the manifold so i nice smooth curve in the manifold pipes does the trick just wonderful.

I have just won a set of GSXR Tbs on eBay

How much are your manifolds ?
