Yeah anyway,one of those flexy dipsticks as used with some kind of electrical pickup sensor.
Thought it was easiest to use as you can disconnect at handle so it makes it a doddle to shorten,problem was bizness end with min max marks on decided
life in the bottom of the sump would be nicer than dipstick tube 
.
Found an old MK2 escort dip and cut to length,that'll do.

Ask Hicost what happened to one of his cossie engines that had somthing left in the sump !!!
Its not an oil pump fitting tool so i wont worry too much

We have very much the same setup. I got the Escort radiator as well; can u please show or let me know how you routed the lower outlet pipes; as i found it very close to the belts. MK say try re-routing,but it's really tight finding another way around.
