Quick question..
Do you need to put any sealant on exhaust manifold gaskets are just fit them dry…?
Paul
they are designed to be fitted dry. Sealant can restrict flow when it is pressed. It is good practice to smear a thin film of grease on the gasket
If you feel like it, although rover's V8 was suposed to be asembled dry with NO gasket, there is a gasket that you can use which is the perfect
size & fitting if you want to use it.
The good old Ford pinto (boat anchor) has exhaust gaskets that match perfectly, well 3 out of the set of 4 do. They are cheap as chips to get and fit
perfectly.

Another Low-cost solution.
But never use any silicon based sealant if you have a cat fitted (the emmission reducing type, not the furry type)!!
