you need type 9, any sierra except t/c and 4wd, reverse is next to first and the casing is iron, the mt75 has reverse next to 4th and an ally case and is a bit on the big side.
use early 1600 sierra clutch cant remember the diameter but they changed early on in life, you want the small one.

t/c means twin cam,the worst engine ford ever made!

I know of people using the Twincam for Locost builds. I certainly wouldn't consider one myself (mainly due to the size and weight of it) but feel it unfair and certainly inaccurate to label it as the "worst" engine ever built by Ford. Such dubious honours should go to the V4's, 2.3 V6, Diesel Yorks and such like.

The twincam is an understressed engine and with sensible servicing will see a good 200,000 miles without rebuild. The timing chains can rattle after 150,000 and if allowed to run low on coolant then head gasket failure will occur, or worse still the head can crack. Otherwise it's a sound engine. It was developed into the 2.0 16v motor (as used in the Scorpio and Mk 5 RS2000) and later went out to 2300cc. Anyone initially building with a humble twincam could uprate to this engine without any chassis or gearbox mods (ie straight fit) and would have a car that would kick the ass of any Ford V6 boat anchor (or Rover V8 come to that).
