Hi all, i've been collecting bits for my 1.8 zetec project, ZX9 carbs, megajolt etc but i keep thinking about supercharging it.
Do you think i could use the ZX9's and megajolt with a supercharger ?
Or does it make more sense to use a single 2.0 throttle body and use megasquirt ? (more expense and i've already got the other bits !)
Anyone with supercharging experiance ?
Cheers
Yep,
I saw a turbocharged ZZR seven at Snetterton TotalKitCarLive, which just ran on programmable ignition and std carbs and using the std airbox, carbs
likely to be jetted to run richer than normal, probably a 1.7-1.8mm mainjet and the needles lifted up 1 slot.
Bike carbs on a std car engine will need a main jet around 1.6-1.75mm, if supercharing maybe think of 1.7-1.8mm..
just an idea,

If your using megajolt you will need a MAP sensor version for use with forced induction, TPS can not be used as it cant indicate the load under
boost.
Paul.
w/ref to supercharging, you probably could use just a TPS, as boost is rpm linked not throttle/rpm as with a turbocharger system.
For example: Boost at 3k will be the same wether throttle is 50% or 100%..

Looks like i'm going to keep i eye out for supercharger bits now
I've got megajolt with tps so i'll see what its like with that
(might change to map if its that bad)
Thanks for advise help so far
dont mean to hijack the thread but what is tps?
