running trouble
omega0684 - 20/5/07 at 09:02 PM

evening all,

after working all weekend on the car, i have come on leaps and bounds towards booking my sva. (i reckon that i might get the paper work sent off on tomorrow.

i have managed to get 90% of the dash wiring complete and i thought that i would take it out for a trip to the top of the street and back just to make sure that the gauges and other instruments were working.

here the problems start. as i started to pull off everything seemed fine got up to about 3500 rpm in first gear and there just seemed to be no more power! the revs went through the roof on the accelerator but the was no pull in the car, it was only moving out of momentum.

i shifted down into 2nd and as the revs dropped back down to around 2000rpm the power came back, but then the same happened again, as the revs incresed to 3000-3500 the power went and momentum took over!

any ideas on what may be causing the lack of power?

cheers fella's

Alex

If the engines is still picking up but the cars not accelerating its usually a slipping clutch...?

bigrich - 20/5/07 at 09:10 PM

slipping clutch or a lot of wheelspin

Clutch

It has got to be the clutch Alex

raz, have you rang westfield about the diffuser?

If you're lucky it may be the clutch needs adjusting, you may get away it. Not too likely, but you can always hope.

I'm giving them a call first thing tomorrow - that drawing you emailed me is almost exactly the same as my design - spooky
