hi ive been having probs getting a mt75 so ive bought a type 9 how much power can i of these take before saying good night. where can you buy kits to
make them stronger and how much. ive read about changing the ratios in them but couldnt you just change the diff to get the ratio you want.
adam
I have a type 9 fitted and have 200bhp throught it , no problems so far!

People tend to say 150bhp, but theres been discussions on here in the past that they will take much more in a lighter car. Similarly with rear axles
etc.
BGH (Brian Hill) gearboxes have an excellent reputation, but upgraded ones arent cheap.
There are plenty of people on here running well over 150bhp through a T9 though. They certainly wont last 100,000miles but still, they are cheap
enough to just replace if you bust it.

I am putting 200hp and 165 lbft of torque through one, in a heavier car they will smash very quickly at that power (I have broken many!! ) but in a
seven the tyres let go first!
As you say they are cheap, I have a couple of spares laying around in wait!
Well they managed to drag 160bhp Capri's around that weighed well over a ton.
I will now have well over 150bhp and am not expecting any problems.
