hi can anyone tell me when you turbo a zetec and you use a decompression plate and 2 head gaskets. how do you go about doing the timing. because i think if even if you have adjustable pulleys wont the timing stil be out because you have extended the block adam

Not if you have adjustable pulleys, otherwise yes it will.

You can adjust it to exactly where you need it with adjustable jobbies though.

(obviously ignoring the standard numbers and setting it by lift on overlap, and doing power runs to confirm)

turbo it is then lol. the company that does some work for use said they will do me a decompression plate very cheap. and they can scan the gasket ive got

don't forget to do the plate in either copper or ally, they are a bit more forgiving on the gaskets!

If you got the plate made out of copper the same thickness as your gasket and decomp plate it should be possible to then do without the traditional gaskets should it not?

the spacer plates gonna cost me £10 plus the two gaskets. ill try that first then if it doesnt work ill buy some forged pistons. the engine wont last long anyway

The cam pulleys on a Zetec are not keyed to the cams like the old Pinto engines, lf you follow the cam timing procedure as long as the belt is long enough the valve timing would be exactly the same
