Question - Does the coolant header tank need to be visible.

Hi All,

Just a quick question. does the header tank need to be visible for SVA?

I was planning to hide it behind a ALI panel, and just have the cap at teh top exposed for filling.

The panel will have a removable top for service and to allow me to check the level.

Any ideas if this is ok for the SVA?

Many thanks

No requirement. You can buy ali header tanks anyway which you cant see the level in. The SVA man is more worried about safety critical stuff rather than if you will cook your engine 5 miles down the road...

Might not be too happy if it boils over onto driver or pasenger legs. so route your overflow pipe away from passengers.

It'll still be under the bonnet, so that should n't be a problem, just under an additional panel, for neeatness

mine is under the nosecone.

Its an extra three screws to access it but then it fits into the hose run neatly there, saves routing the water back to the bulkhead and then forwards to the rad again.
