about to change the timing belt on my shopping trolley, its a 97 1.8 zetec, looking on fleabay there seems to be 2 types,2 or 3 roller types, ive never come across this before, anyone know when 3 roller came in?

I had a 97 Mondeo that had 3, but the best way to know for sure is just to pull the cover off and have a look.
It is worth changing the water pump while you have it all off too (unless you know it has been chenged in the recent past of course)

Cheers

Alex
PS
It is a right pain of a job BTW, no bloody room to move between the chassis/inner wing and engine

Strange. I thought they all had three pulleys. Silvertop up to 4.98 has large tensioner up top and two smaller pulleys down by the crank. Blacktop has two large pulleys up top and small pulley down by the crank.
Blacktop tensioner is 60mm diameter and silvertop tensioner is 85mm diameter.
