the crossflow is out to have the sump replaced (whacked it a while ago and the oil leak got quite bad) so whilst it's out is it worth sticking
in a new camshaft prior to bolting on the sidedraughts in the near future.
Thinking of a kent bcf2. - what do you reckon
Phil
1)Go on, you know you want to!
2)You will only have to do it later anyway.
3)You can probably get one now, that will be cheaper than getting one later.
4)It would be more efficient to do it now.
More reasons may follow from other members.
5) Oh and it will give you more incentive to get the side-draughts.

i fitted a zx9 camshaft instead of the standard xflow one. Made a phenominal difference, but i suspect that was more the fact that i also swapped rest
of the engine!

Bear in mind that changing a camshaft on a xflow is an engine out sump off job.
Suspect the sump may be off anyhow?. Got a BCF2 in mine but not yet set up properly , seems to be a big improvement already .
LMAO

Oh ok then !
Thanks for the arm twisting:
Phil

I'd consider a Kent 234 or 244 rather than the bcf2 - was informed (by kent) that these are better for a lighter car.
They're also what Caterham used to use.
bought a bcf2 today - chose it because there is no additional maching, just goes straight in.
Thanks all -
Phil
The BCF3 will also go in with no need for pockets, but it's probably not so good for driving in traffic etc.
