does any one know which one i require and where to get one?? and also how to mount it on my throttle boddies (GXSR 750's)
You can stick it in the air filter backplate/airbox if you have one, if not just locate it as close to the trumpets as poss so it's in roughly
the same air as the engine is breathing.
As for where to find one, I have had them out of Saab & Volvo's, and a couple of jap motors that I can't remember from the scrappy, and
measured them and set up the MS with easytherm. Apparently the 1.4 mk3 Astra has a suitable sensor that you won't need to configure if you
don't feel like fiddling that much. I have also heard of a supplier of new GM sensors in the UK for little money, but I can't find it at the
mo..

you know where it is located on the astra and roughly what year? the newer models im guessing, ill go get one from the scrap yard and give it a
try!

Isn't the air temp sensor supposed to be in ambient air? I was advised to keep it well away from heat sources (engine?) and placed mine in a shielded position near a wheel arch. At least that is the story with my ecu - the air temp is just there to richen the mix on cold frosty mornings when cranking.
I used the one out of a sri cavvy it's located in the maf in a rubber grommet. I've placed it in the back plate of my airbox.(hope it

Lots of cars these days have the air sensor built into the MAF flow meter, you just need to wander around the breakers and find a car with a sensor
bunged into the air filter housing.
I used one off a V12 jag, these engines use the inlet vacumn same as megasquirt so also can provide a nice pair of big throttle bodies.
I used one from a vectra, it measures 3k ohms resitance at 20c so agrees with the one specified for the megasquirt.
I located it in the back plate of the airfilter so that it accurately measures the actual air temperature going into the engine.

RS part number 151-215 is the correct component but is rather small and not very easy to incorporate into a reliable fixing.
