GSXR Airfilter fitting
prelude1980 - 25/6/07 at 06:20 PM

i have some 600 throttlebodies and i have been trying to find out how a sausage filter and back plate fit on to the t/b's as they don't have any bolt holes.

any ideas or pics would be appreciated. i know some people have done this already somewhere

I tapped the triangle flanges that sit above the pots and bolted the back plate to these.

not a bad idea, that holds it at the bottom but is that strong enough to with no top fixing

The rubber trumpets on the gsxr have a pair of lips/groove that the airbox/backplate fits into. Will see if I can dig out any pics of a trumpet...

Not the greatest pic but you can see the two rings near the base of each trumpet, the airbox backplate slots in between these

What is the lenght of these velocity stacks? And have the gixxers always have 4 stacks of the same length?

The GSXR750 (of the year I got mine off at least, K1) had two different lengths, a pair of short ones on cylinders 1 and 4 and longer on 2 and 3. I bought a spare airbox so I had a complete set of four of each length to play with. The ones in the pic are the 'long' ones, the short ones are really short - probably about 25mm. The long ones are still only about 75mm at a guess, I haven't actually measured them.

yeah i can see how t works for the gsxr trumpets but i have ally ones, so i can't do that this time
