Afternoon all

I'm looking at using either copper or stainless pipes to run down the side of the engine to connect thermostat/water pump coolant hoses to expansion bottle etc. What kind of fasteners would be best to hold these in place as they get hot. Someone suggested ruber lined p clips but would the pipes get too hot?

What has anyone using a similar set up used to attached the pipes to the engine?

Rubber lined metal P clips?

Plastic should be fine (it's only 80-100C) but you might find it embrittle with time..

On my pinto ive ran an ali pipe down side of engine under exhaust manifold and then a length of Samco from the end - over bell housing and round to the carbs. Where it goes over bell housing i cut some flat ali plates (maybe 25mm wide and 50 ish mm high from chequer plate floor off cuts) - these bolt to BH via the gearbox bolts and then push in cable tie bases through the plates with the tie wrap holding the pipe. Does this make sense ( i havent got a pic). It works fine for me. No issues after 18 months and 4000 miles.

yep stainless steel with an inner rubber lining. I used them on my fuel and brake lines, they grip really well
