Guys I have twin 40s on my pinto with an electric fuel pump up front. Would I benefit from fitting a swirl pot? Im worried about fuel sloshing over to one side and starving the carbs of fuel. I plan to track the car so it will see a fair bit of side to side action.

Ive been reading up on them and they seem mostly for injected engines so there would be a couple of the connections that would need to be blanked off (the return pipes).

Am i wasting my time or it worth the effort?

PS - reason Im worried is my fuel gauge isnt damped and it swings from full to empty quite easily.

I'm pretty sure a swirl pot on a carb'ed car would be pointless, remember Carbs have float chamber that will keep it going under circumstances that the fuel supply is interupted. An injected vehicle is more about maintaining the pressure at the injectors rather that supply of fuel.

(PS. I once drove a car about 5 miles on the content of the float chamber, after forgetting to unclamp the fuel hose)

A sumped or properly baffled tank is useful for track days....

but yes, float valves mean that a swirl pot is generally unecessary.....
