Is there an ID number (not the engine type 711M etc) somewhere on the engine to tally with my donor ID?

I have the VIN plate and V5 from the donor but I wondered if I would also need to find a number to tally on the engine itself.

Obviously I want this for proof of engine age etc and to argue for an age related plate.

I can't find an engine number only the 'type'

Engine number is on the block between exhaust 1 & 2 looking downwards on a 'ledge' at head gasket height.
