hi ive started cleaning my type 9 but what do you all use to get into the small bits. ive done most of it with a wire brush but it keeps getting
blocked up with oil.

Tooth brush and petrol are my usual tools, or a little suede brush is very useful. It's like a small soft wire brush, great for ally.
Cillit Bang did it for me.

Pat...
petrol is the best and cheapest grease cleaner there is. one word of warning. wear gloves this thign goes through your skin.
petrol is by far the best grease killer...
to clean my gearbox, i first scraped the thick cack with a spatula and a flat screw driver, then cleaned it with petrol, then wire brush on a
dremel.
i then painted it. looks as good as new.
Paraffin is a better degreaser than petrol.
I used Marine Clean, got a big jug from frosts a while back and it was pretty good, removed gunk really well.
That and a load of rags around small screwdrivers was about all i needed to get the gunk out the grooves.
