Cooling

Hi,
I've got some cooling questions.
I've build an Avon (Zetec 2.0) with the standard Tiger radiator.
Is it worth changing it for a VW Polo radiator (has it enough capacity)?
And secondly, how do you connect them?
The Polo radiator has only two inlets, and no connection for the tube coming from the expansion bottle.
The Tiger radiator has 3 inlets and the Polo 2?

hey there.

i have a tiger cat E1 and recently had a radiator leak.

I was thinking about changing to the polo radiator but in the end got y tiger rad fixed (this was mainly because i knew that it worked). A few things i have noted during my expedition. lol

Many people will say the polo radiator is better as it can be mounted upright - many things i have read have said that infact the radiator should be mounted at a slight angle for most efficient cooling (provided that there it is well boxed in the nose cone).

you are right the polo rad only has two outlets and you must find a T-piece to split the bottom hose.

I think it also has a small breather pipe at the top which must be connected.

An advantage is that it is aluminum of course and there have been some criticisms of the workmanship of the tiger rad.

Not having used the polo i have no idea which is best. i expect that both function perfectly well.

I hope this helps in some way.

The best place the tiger people think to get the rad from is northern radiators i think.

I'm not so happy with my present radiator (small waterleak), so I'm looking for a way to improve it.
I can get hold on a Polo radiator.
