Well last night after around 45 minutes the engine finally roared to life
What a fantastic feeling of achievement. It only took so long to get started as I had my HT leads 90 degrees out from the rest of the engine
Just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone here who has assisted me getting this far by putting up with and answering my sometine daft
questions, it's much appreciated.
Cheers
Nigel
Congratulations! definitely a milestone in any build
It is truly a great moment - now stop gloating and get cracking with the rest!
Steve
Well done Nigel - as above, a major milestone (and serious boost) to any build when you get it running for the first time
I still develop a daft expression when I think back to firing it up for the first time (with no silencer fitted)
Edit to say...
Don't suppose you captured the moment on video did you?

unfortunately no as i was too busy turning the ignition and making sure my legs weren't in front of the exhaust minus silencer.
didn't half jump with the first load bang and reasonably large flame popped out of the back.
fell around laughing with the number of dogs that started barking and people coming out of their houses wondering what was making such a loud
noise.
Saw a neighbour in our close later who said he could hear the engine runnnig over his telly 8 houses away
A good test of neighbourhood relations
excellent, congrats and I hope it helps push the build along.
It gave me a massive push as getting it running makes you want to drive it

Well done
