Whats the current going price for a duratec lump?
ive had a few quotes for second hand ones around £750 for a lowish mile one (2l) and ive seen new ones for £1600-1700.

Anyone know a good source for either the 2l or the 2.3l?

Have a look at Mamba Motorsport - they do both of those engines

I know it's possible (or was) to still buy new ones from Ford for surprisingly little money.

Not sure exactly but have a feeling the figure was around £1500 but can't remember if that was 2.0 or 2.3.

You probably know this anyway but I'm pretty sure the 2.3 is low compression but pistons can be bought for it to up the compression.
