Hi all,
I have a 2 litre Zetec which is giving a bit of grief in that it's blowing out around 1/2 - 3/4 of a litre of oil per 10 miles of competition
driving. It's nearly all coming out the block breather, which I changed from standard to a 15mm-ish I/D pipe, angled up and into a catch tank.
It's a home made sump with the well at the front, engine is fairly modified and giving 210bhp with the rev limit at 7800rpm.
Should I
A) Put some gauze into a bigger breather pipe, then into bigger catch tank and hope for the best?
B) Put a return from the catch tank back into the sump?
C) Try to figure out why the hell it decides to fire out all this oil in the first place?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
B and C
Cheers

I agree with Mookaloid B and C,
But more importantly C

Broken or seized compression rings
Cheers lads, advice appreciated, the only thing is the engine seems fine, revs out, same grunt as before, no smoke, just a huge carbon footprint from
all that waste oil.....
Will have to investigate further.
