mtx-75 bellhouse drawings
violentblue - 17/9/07 at 09:59 PM

Hi, anyone out there have drawings (with dimensions) on the mtx-75 tranny bellhousing for the Zetec

I'm trying to draw it up in CAD so I can have a plate cut out on a waterjet.

Thanks all.

don't think the mtx-75 had a bellhousing does it, being front wheel drive, but its the same as any 4pot rear drive bellhousing used in about the last 40 years if it does, bolt pattern wise.

It's totaly different to the old RWD gearbox bellhousing bolt pattern. All gearboxes that bolt to an engine need some kind of bellhousing for the clutch, though in the case of transaxles and some RWD boxes they are integral to the gearbox housing.

how can it be different?

The zetec mates to a mtx-75 and you can mate a zetec to a type 9. Therefore isn't the bell housing is very similar to the type 9.

The duratec bell housing is very different to the type 9 / mtx75. Is that what you mean?

i've made the assumption that the mtx-75 gearbox was fitted to the duratec as well as zetec. Do you mean the duratec bellhousing?

This drawing was posted on the Haynes forum a while ago.

thats the MT not the MTX (the x means transaxle, ie front wheel drive).

The MT shares the bolt pattern with the type 9 rear wheel drive. The question is did ford make a MTX for zetec and duratec engines or do they now use a completely different gearbox on teh duratecs.

(by duratec, i mean the new engine or alloy v6, not the rebranded zetecs)

I'm bolting a 2.0 zetec t a type5, but I need to modify the type 5 bellhousing to match the zetec bolt pattern and make use of the zetec starter in the original location.

if you have drawing with dimensions or Cad drawings of the type9 or mt75 bellhousings, that would be a good starting point to draw up my own.

I have the drawings of the v6 mt-75, which has a similar bellhousing to the T5
