The pinion to crownwheel backlash is fine but I have about 3/8" backlash at the pinion with halfshafts and wheels fitted.Opinions as to where the play is,diff gears or halfshaft spline to socket is all I can think.

Could just be the normal play through the planet gears, Is it noisy on the road?
