hi ive came across a diff but its a torque-sensing diff are these any good for making chain diffs.

Depends how easy it is to seal up the diff to keep it full of oil or grease. A picture would be helpful.

What kind of "torque sensing" does this diff have? Is it an ATB type such as a quaiffe or is it a viscous coupling like a sierra LSD?

I'd guess its a torsen gear diff

Ive seen them used in the formula student cars with a chain drive.
