Stll fiddling with my engine, and need to know which crank pullies will fit a silvertop zetec. I know cvh are ok (all??) but what about pinto or
earlier.
I need something as small as poss in terms of distance from front of engine.
Also, seen piccies of pinto and cossie pullies but they look as if they are solid and don't have the rubber bit in to act as dampers? Is this
true, do I need a damper style one on the zetec?
Please help me out
TIA
Clive
Not sure, but I think that the Zetec is fitted with a vibration damper type pully, and if so you will need the original one. Sure somebody will come along and say whether I am right, (or wrong). Cheers Ray
If its any help, they are called Dual Mass pullies - I've got one on my V6 and it works very well, smoothing out the top end of the rev range.
Have sussed the zetec pulley, but also know people use the cvh one with no probs. Also seen alloy "underdrive" versions with no rubber and
extra light. Suspect they will wear VERY quickly.
Trying to see f I can get anything thinner than the cvh one, happy to go v belt.
Alternatively I could extend the existing pully 25mm with a spacer, possibly the centre of a spare pulley, pinned and welded. Needs to be straight
though
Anybody out ther tell me if the cvh pulley is solid? That would help. Ta
The CVH sierra pulley is solid cast and the trigger wheel is shrunk on.

Some people use the cvh pulley on a zetec, so the damper thing can't be so important. Or maybe those engines won't last as long??
I like the idea of extending a pulley by pinning and welding the centre of another pully on my existing one. Could be interesting! Or get a steel one
machined up from scratch I suppose.
