hiya me again i just finished my engine this weekend but i fittied the old carb from my 1300 x flow to my 1600 xflow as i have not recived my 1600 carb yet would you bother changing when it come or just leave 1300 in place thanks terry

I would def swop as the 1600 will need more fuel than the 1300 so will need the larger jet sizes in the 1600 carb. I wouldnt go to far on the 1300 carb as it may starve the engine of fuel

In the olden days when crossflows were still fitted to escorts a friend of mine had a 1300 carb on a 1600 and it melted a piston. Just remembered it was my engine he borrowed

Xflo's were always one of the most expensive engines from scrapyard, so many young cowboys abused them and needed replacements it drove the price up.

My mates dad had a scrappy

Your right crossflows were expensive then but you could afford to buy a rusty cortina and stick the pinto engine in your mk2 escort and insure it
