Currently running a Burton BLF40.41 rally cam which I think is a little lairy for the car.
So Im thinking of changing to a fast road type cam to make better power lower in the rev range and maybe work a bit better with the twin 40s.
Any recommendations?
2.1 pinto
ported head
leccy ignition
twin weber 40s
thanks
Piper 285 - not a lary cam, nice smooth power delivery.

I was running fully balanced, flowed head 2 ltr with 45's with a kent fr32 cam kit, very torquey very driveable once we had the timing running
right, we had a homemade electronic brain for advance, I have the advance curve figures i can send you.

my ignition isnt adjustable tho, its the bestek system
Before binning what you have got try advancing the cam a bit, around 7 degrees will pull in some mid range and bottom end power.
its around 11deg atm if that helps
40.41 cam is:
.450" LIFT/324deg DURATION:

Burton do this one:
BURTON ROAD/RALLY CAMSHAFT .460" LIFT/300deg DURATION: SOHC PINTO
might calm things a bit. Its drives ok but Ive a feeling when the carbs are running out of puff the cam is just getting going at the minute.

- You might want to check you have the maximum choke sizes you can get in your 40's i.e. 36mm cheers
would I need to get all the kit parts as well? The 40.41 wont have been in too long really so wont have suffered from much wear.

ive got the Fr32 but suspect it may be a bit tame for you. Mookys went very well ideed with the FR33.
i think Alistair at AMAC Engineering has been getting a new batch of his special pinto cams in as well recently. No idea of the spec but he seems to
be able to exploit the best a Pinto can give with them.
