I have the origianl air box for my Kwaker ZX10r. Is it best to use this or does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative.
The engine sits quit high in the car and even with the MK bonnet bulge its a tight fit. People have mentioned sausage filters????
If you keep the stock airbox you may be able to avoid re-jetting the carbs. Then again, exhaust choice can also require re-jetting...... If you put
sausage filters on you'll very likely need to re-jet.
It all depends how keen you are to avoid a bonnet hole or bonnet bulge.
Bear in mind that you need a certain gap between the end of the trumpets and the nearest obstruction (eg bonnet) even with sausage filters.
im looking at this too as the airbox is huge and in the end i would like to get rid of the scoop.
the bikes injection so jetting isnt an issue, and will have a power commander on it anyway.
been there tried that, even tried it upside down and it still didnt fit then tried cutting and modifying its size and shape to no avail so had one
made in ally to fit the space i have and to use the standard intake trumpets etc then ducted it into the nose to pick up cold air and it seems to work

Go to those nice folk at TTS Performance and get a sausage filter.
