Zetec running too cool
timex - 14/10/07 at 11:02 PM

Durnig our first trackday and first drive in our Zetec powerd Leugo we noticed that our water temp never went any higher than 55`C. It only ever went higher when we was stood still. The normal running temp for a Zetec is around 80`C so we are running too cool!

Are current plumbing set up is this and does not have a Thermostat.

So today we put a standard Zetec Thermostat back into the hausing and the expansion tank just filed to the top.

To overcome this problem will this work with the thermostat in place?

Thermostat should solve all your probs. Plumb it as much as poss as prod engine.

55 deg, way too cold.

second picture is the way to go, you should be running in the 93-99C range. Tiger do a neat solution for the two connections to the bottom hose, 32mm pipe with two 18mm bosses welded in.

I'm planning on following THIS website when i plumb in my zetec, the pipe external to the block allows water to circulate before the thremostat opens.

That's how I plumbed mine and have had no problems - warms up nicely and stays at a constant temperature pretty much...
