just wondering if anyone has fitted one, im doing my uni project on fitting one, modelling it all in solid works, just didnt know if anyone had done
it so id know what things im likely to have to change.
i think it would be pretty much the same as fitting a 2ltr zetec as their the same engine basically.
any help would be great.
cheers ross.

might be of help.
'O' yes in the process of doing just this.... The challenge is to get bonnet clearance for the VVT control valve so I fitted a dry sump and
dropped it a bit. This may only be a problem on my Luego Velocity however there is a power bulge in the bonet that helps..... SO lowering it means
making/changing the engine mounts... It is also not possible to use the standard inlet as this hit the top chassis rail so gone for the normal
throttle bodies.... The rest of it seems the same/similar to the std Zetec.
O by the way can't use the std ECU due to all the security PAT's etc plus the st170 has not got a return to the tank on the original setup
but this is fixed with the throttle bodis and new fuel rail etc... DTA S60 pro has code embedded to run the engine with the VVT enabled so this is the
route I am going....
hope this helps...

so the parts i need to look at redesigning are the sump, exhaust, mounts and intake system?
im guessing like when people use them in mk 2 escorts etc, illl need to change the water rail?
what about the alternator?
am i likely to need to change any of the chassis its self i.e. move bars etc?
the project is fair straight forward, i need to model the standard chassis and engine and make the engine fit. all in solid works.

I went to the Newark show this year in June and seem to remember seeing a blue Tiger Cat with an ST170 lump fitted in it. Fully roadgoing parked
within our Tiger members enclosure. Don`t know who the owner is though.
