fuel return to tank

Hi guys, just fitted my injection pump for my turbo install. 6 months ago i made an alloy tank and added the fuel return barb for this new mod. But im unsure if its going to create fuel pick up problems for the pump. What i did was make a standard sized tank, but drilled 20 mm hole in the bottem and then welded a 50mm x 50mm box 20mm deep below this hole. It was to help the fuel stay at the pic up for the pump and not move away on hard cornering.

This has worked fine with the original no return pump. But thinking about it now i have connected it up im unsure if the returning fuel into this small box will swirl and effect the pick up.

Any suggestions or calming comments welcome

You will only know this when you try it for the first time A lot depends on how much flow will be coming back to the tank and the angle that it comes in.
You could put some kind of baffle near the return to avoid disturbing the feed too much - chances are that with the full weight of all the fuel above, it will be ok.

Really the return should go in at the top of the tank, but you may well be fine - air shouldn't get into the return flow anywhere.
