Oil cooler hose/fittings
pjavon - 22/10/07 at 09:41 AM

Anyone got any good websites that sell the fittings/unions for oil coolers. Found some on ebay, Matt Lewis Racing, but with delivery it's £20 for 4 fittings
I only payed £15 for the cooler.
Any advice on fitting etc please, seems simple enough, but any help always appreciated.

Thats seems a good price, what size fittings are they and what hose are you using?

depends on the fittings;

plated steel ones are a couple of qid to a fiver - in BSP and some JIC + other sizes.

fancy anodised aluminium fittings are £ 10 - £ 20 depending on size and shape.

thinkauto - will sort you out for sure - best price too. they can manufacture custom one off fittings.

Done that and we have all been down that road.

I bought my cooler off ebay for £15, thought I had done a good deal,really chuffed....The steel mesh covered rubber pipes cost as much as the cooler did and then the fittings about £4 each (£16, I think!!!).

Then found out I had to have a sandwhich plate (about £20) and then two of the fittings would not fit, I needed 90 degree bends....more postage and two more fittings finally got it fixed.

Got all my fittings from http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk

You haven't got a hydraulics supplier like Pirtek in your town, have you?

Always found them very useful in the past...
