As it says in the title I can't select 5th. The box has a home made westfield type remote control that was working fine but now doesn't. Any ideas where 5th has gone?

Have u got a normal gear lever you could try? Might just be a bit of the extension bent or twisted..

Have you looked under the passenger seat? Anything I lose in the car is always under the passenger seat!

Unfortunately as the extension is pinned to the remote operating rod I can't try normal gearlever without taking the box out!
