Hi,
I currently have a Vauxhall C20NE engine connected to a type 9 gearbox. I will be replacing the engine with a phase 3, 2.0l Zetec, keeping the type 9
gearbox.
What options do i have on the bellhousing i use to join the two together? Is there a lightweight one that i can use?
Similarly, what options do i have in terms of flywheel and clutch? My current plan is to source a std 1.8 flywheel and clutch.
Does anyone have any recommendations on uprated versions that i could use?
Welcome to the forum first of all
I don't have any recommendations for you unfortunately, I was wondering if you would be selling your current vauxhall to type 9 bellhousing?
I might be interested if it is the same bolt pattern as an XE.
standard ford type9 bell housing, standard 1.8 zetec clutch and flywheel.

If you can find one a RS 2000 bell housing is lighter as are the ones Rallydesign sell although a standard cast bell housing would fit . If you want a standard one I have one in the shed you can have if your local. Cost of p&p would be high
Thanks for the help so far!
Everytime i think about it i become even less decisive about what to buy!!!!!!
Im reluctant to buy another flywheel and clutch as i already have new 2.0l ones but i just dont want them that heavy.
Sounds like the 1.8 flywheel and new clutch are the way to go.
:{THC}:YosamiteSam - what starter motor are you using on your setup?
SALAD - yep, i will be getting rid of the bell housing, the engine is the 2.0 8v C20NE, ive no idea if the bolt pattern is the same tho.
rusty nuts - one of these?

I would need to modify this to fit into the trannie tunnel, but i like the sound of weight savings

Thats the part. I have one in my Locost without modifying the chassis at all
been told the cvh starter is the way to go - the sierra pinto does not fit - the pinion throw is wrong and the body is too wide - it fouls the sump
